Semper Fidelis is the motto of the United States Marine Corps. It means “Always Faithful” to your country, to yourself, and to a set of ideals that have made the Marine Corps the most respected fighting force in the world. The society is an organization committed to upholding those ideals and furthering the training of future Marine Corps officers.
The purpose of the Semper Fidelis Society is to prepare Marine Option Midshipman morally, intellectually, and physically for the rigors of Officer Candidate School, which all Marine Options will attend after their junior year of college. Physical training, professional classroom instruction, and practical application of skills learned in the classroom are all ways of preparing Midshipman for Officer Candidate School and give them a background for the challenges they will face at The Basic School. Our society aims to instill and uphold the highest levels of discipline and professionalism and we accept nothing less than absolute commitment to our core values.
School Year Training
Every event that Semper Fidelis Society conducts is designed for professional growth and development of future Marine Corps officers. In addition to weekly classroom meetings, the Semper Fidelis Society conducts training events such as 3, 6, 9, and 12-mile conditioning humps; field training exercises at Volk Field; M16A4 weapon familiarization; close order drill; and OCS preparation (Bulldog Prep).
