Lieutenant Jeremy Heimke
Position title: Alpha Company Advisor
A native of West Bend, WI, Lieutenant Heimke earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan and received his commission through the University of Michigan’s Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) program.
Shortly after commissioning, he reported to Naval Nuclear Power Training Command (NNPTC) in Charleston, SC to begin the naval nuclear training pipeline. After graduating from NNPTC, he completed the Naval Nuclear Operator course at Nuclear Power Training Unit (NPTU), Charleston, SC and the Submarine Officer Basic Course in Groton, Connecticut.
Lieutenant Heimke reported aboard the nuclear fast attack submarine, USS CHARLOTTE (SSN 766) in January 2016, where he flew immediately to Sasebo, Japan to meet the submarine on a Western Pacific deployment. In September of 2018, Lieutenant Heimke completed another six-month Western Pacific deployment. Lieutenant Heimke served as the Electrical Officer, Reactor Control Assistant, Assistant Operations Officer, Communications Officer, Ship’s Diving Officer, and the ship’s Drill Lieutenant during his time on board.
Lieutenant Heimke transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Madison Naval ROTC in Dec 2018, having completed several missions vital to national security while aboard USS CHARLOTTE.
Lieutenant Heimke’s personal decorations include three Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medals and several unit awards.
