Physical Training
Physical training
All students are required to maintain minimum levels of physical fitness as prescribed by the Navy and Marine Corps.
Navy Option midshipmen are required to achieve a minimum of Good Low on the bi-annual Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA). Marine Option midshipmen score a minimum of 225 on the bi-annual Physical Fitness Test (PFT). Students who achieve less than the minimum score will be placed in a Fitness Enhancement Program (FEP) which will require additional supervised weekly workouts and nutrition education.
Option specific requirements
Navy Option midshipmen are also required to qualify:
- Swimming: Third-Class Swimmer prior to the start of the sophomore year
- Sailing: Mate A and Skipper B prior to the start of the senior year
Marine Option midshipmen are also required to:
- Participate in Semper Fidelis Society workouts and activities
- Successfully Complete Officer Candidate School
