Lieutenant Kaitlin Dryden

Lieutenant Kaitlin E. Dryden, a native of Staten Island, NY, earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Oceanography and received her commission through the United States Naval Academy in 2010.


Shortly after commissioning, she reported to Naval Aviation Schools Command in Pensacola, Florida, to begin the Naval Flight Officer training pipeline.  After completing primary training at Training Squadron TEN (VT-10) in August 2011, she was assigned to the maritime patrol community and commenced training at the Fleet Replacement Squadron for the P-3C Orion in Jacksonville, FL.


Lieutenant Dryden reported to the Patrol Squadron FIVE (VP-5) Mad Foxes, stationed in Jacksonville, FL, in May of 2012 and immediately completed a seven-month deployment to the Seventh Fleet Area of Responsibility.  Upon her return from deployment, she completed a six-month transition to the P-8A Poseidon aircraft with the Mad Foxes, deploying again to Seventh Fleet in 2014.


While attached to VP-5, Lieutenant Dryden served as the MWR officer, Public Affairs Officer, Aircrew Survival Equipmentman Branch Officer, Assistant Tactics Officer, and Aircraft Division Officer.


In June of 2015, Lieutenant Dryden assumed her current position as freshman advisor and Bravo Company Officer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Naval ROTC.


Lieutenant Dryden’s personal decorations include the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal and various unit awards and citations.
