Navy and Marine Corps Birthday Ball

Every fall, we celebrate the Navy and Marin Corps Birthdays (October 13, 1775 and November 10 1775 respectively. The celebration consists of a formal ceremony, dinner, toasts, and dancing.

During the ceremony, the birthday cake is cut and the most senior officer present passes a piece of cake to the most junior midshipman. This symbolizes the passing of knowledge and experience from the expereienced to those new to the naval service
